Gift Vouchers Now Available

Following demand, we are – at last! – now able to offer Gift Vouchers. These are available in any amount required, from £15 upwards, and can be used in full or part-payment towards any item from the Steve Robinson Glass Studio – including our 'Rupert Scott' ranges of tiles and splashbacks, and bespoke commissions.

There is no time limit for using the vouchers and they can be used to purchase from us by mail order. The vouchers are professionally printed on high quality card with a gloss finish, have space for your message on the back, and come in a matching envelope - the perfect present for glass lovers!

At Home Consultation Service – now available

For customers interested in ordering a splashback, in some areas of the UK we are now able to arrange for our Creative Director to come and see you at home to discuss your requirements. There is a charge for this service, which varies according to your location, but it is fully refundable against the cost of the order if you go ahead.

Clydach Primary Care Centre - Commission Completed

Our designer Steve Robinson was commissioned to produce some unique panels which have been backlit, in the Reception area of Clydach Primary Care Centre near Swansea.

The organic design of the panels reflects the surrounding natural environment.

Hilton Hotel - Commission Completed

We were commissioned to produce some of our unique tiles and panels for use in the newly refurbished Reading Hilton. Tiles in our Sea Urchin pattern were used to create a tactile border around the doors to the lift in the main Reception area, and large panels in our Kelp pattern have created a stunning backdrop to the serving area in the Dining Room.

Larger splashbacks now available!

Having invested in a new and larger kiln we are now able to offer our customers even larger glass splashbacks and panels than before. We can now make splashbacks as large as 2.4m x 1.2m per section.

For one month only we are offering a complimentary wall hanging worth £170 with every splashback order totalling £700 or more*.

The wall hanging will measure 20cm x 60cm and will be made to compliment the splashback in a matching or similar pattern.

The pattern of the wall hanging will be at the discretion of our designer, who will know how best to translate the splashback design into the wall hanging format.

Two suitable fixings will be supplied so that the hanging can be wall-mounted.

*This offer applies to orders received on or after 20 October 2008 and paid for in full by 15 November 2008, and is valid for orders where the splashback itself costs £700 or more, before the cost of delivery is added.

We are looking for a new full-time assistant to join the team. The role will involve customer service and sales (in person and via phone and the internet), as well as practical duties in the studio and assisting with production. This is a busy role and candidates will need the ability to work to deadlines, to multi-task and to prioritise effectively. Previous experience of working in glass or a craft environment is not essential; more important are organisational skills, an excellent customer manner and a conscientious attitude.

The successful applicant will be employed to assist in all areas of the business – primarily in production, but there will also be opportunity to develop skills in design, customer liaison, sales and administration. Importantly he or she will be expected to play a part in how work is organised and in the efficient running of the business.  This means it is an excellent (and unusual) opportunity for a craft graduate who aims to establish their own business in due course.

Exhibitions
This spring and summer bring a number of opportunities for both and retail and trade customers to view and purchase our newest work:

Trade buyers are invited to see our latest art hangings, bowls and platters at the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate (3-5 April), including a ‘first view’ of our new Butterfly designs. The Concept For Living Home & Garden Exhibition is a consumer event not to be missed, and is held at Tatton Park in Cheshire from 30 April to 2 May. Visitors to our stand will be able to view first-hand our full range of unique glass tile designs, as well as our popular splashbacks, art hangings and home accessories.

Our work has been selected to form part of a private exhibition for Scandinavian art buyers, to be held at the British Embassy in Helisinki, Finland in May. We will be showing alongside other glass, wood and ceramic artists at this event which is being organised by the Embassy in response to market opportunities they have identified for British design.

The Ferrers Gallery in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, will be featuring some of our pieces as part of their new ‘Shatter’ exhibition – an exploration of the beauty of glass through shape and colour. New designs!
We have launched a new, fifth series to our range of unique tile designs. The “Earth” series has been specially created to contrast beautifully with the textures and shades of natural materials such as limestone, marble and slate, and features a range of patterns in earthy hues.

A collection of our latest art pieces can be seen at Glansevern Hall Gallery, near Welshpool, Powys where we are exhibiting from 2 nd to 31 July. The gallery is situated in Glansevern Hall grounds, where the renowned gardens are open to the public.

Exhibition and gardens open Fridays and Saturdays only; other times by appointment.

An exciting new collection of our glass art is now on show at the new SMART gallery, Batley, in West Yorkshire. Some examples of the work can be seen on the right.

Come and see us at The Interiors Event, NEC, 18-21 January. This is the UK's largest interiors event showcasing the latest ranges in tiles, accessories, lighting, decorative interiors, kitchens, bathrooms and soft furnishings.

Our glass studio is now open to the public. Visitors can view and order from our full range of tile designs, and will be inspired by our displays with ideas on how the designs can be incorporated with ceramic, stone or plain glass tiles … or even backlit. Tile ‘seconds’ are available at a fraction of the normal price.

Enjoy browsing over our ever-changing selection of bowls and art pieces with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. We are situated in fantastic Shropshire countryside yet only minutes from the A5 – see our ‘Contact/Find Us’ page for a map and directions.

We were delighted with the response to our glass tiles, when we exhibited at the highly regarded 100% Design show recently. If you missed the show, some pictures of our stand can be found opposite.

Of particular interest to many interior designers and architects were our backlit tiles - see the board on the far right of our stand, which is also shown in close-up.

We are proud to be associated with Urban Interiors, a new exhibition being launched at the Commonwealth Wealth Institute in Kensington, 7-9 November.

The event will feature professionally designed room sets offering a glimpse into the styles and trends that will shape the interiors market in 2004 and beyond, and the Urban Interiors Design Seminars will offer essential advice for the style conscious homeowner with presentations from some of Europe's foremost designers.
